First dinner in Valparaiso was at this cool place…
…one of the servers was also a DJ: vinyl!
Mini sopaipillas with pebre, aka salsa with a SNAP.
Entree (or fonda) was oboscado, very slowly simmered beef in a very rich gravy.
This is the bone in my oboscado. I think they gave me the better part of a limb.
THIS is where I had lunch on Day 2!
The view with lunch.
Most Chilean restaurants will bring you fresh bread, butter and pebre to start. This place however, brings something like aioli…but better!
This was one of the best salads I’ve ever had.
I got hungry again walking through the old town, so I stopped here…
…for latte, juice, and Raspberry Dulce de Leche Cake.
One of my English students is from Valparaiso, and said I HAD TO COME HERE.
The best Pisco Sour and pebre I’ve had yet.
Lunch here was very simple and VERY good. Perfectly ripe avocado and tomato salad…
…the best salmon ever with blackened butter.
Last dinner in Valpo…did they give me two butter knives?
Pie de Límon. Mmmmm
