Chocolate now, FREE screening soon

TWO THINGS about our Easter chocolate fundraiser:

1. The website to order chocolate is very confusing. Some supporters have said that the amount of information required makes it look like THEY’RE setting up a campaign! The site asks for addresses and such in case WE need to deliver to YOU on April 7, and it asks you to create a password in case you want to come back and order more. If you’re still not sure about buying off the Purdy’s website, we have an alternative event coming up.

2. Take a Bite’s short film Nowhere Normal isn’t available to the general public yet, because it’s still on the festival circuit.

However, any supporters of our first fundraiser will receive an invitation to our upcoming virtual screening…for FREE.

So click here to get your Easter shopping done, and get VIP access to Nowhere Normal early!

Looking for crew: NEXT film

Following the success of the short film Nowhere Normal this year, Janine Waddell will direct Heather Morrow‘s next short script, Reasons I Hate Being Single in the fall of 2023, in Edmonton, Alberta.

We’re applying to this fall’s funding cycle. Given the story’s subject, we would like notes of interest from Edmonton-based, female-identifying, and BIPOC crew, for the following positions:

  • DOP
  • Camera Operator
  • Set Decorator
  • Costume Supervisor
  • Hair Stylists (including specialty hairstyling)
  • Makeup (including effects makeup and prosthetics)
  • Storyboard Artist
  • Grip
  • Cable Person
  • Script Supervisor

This won’t we a full union production, but WILL pay IATSE rates.

If interested, please contact producer Heather Morrow at hmorrow@takeabite.ca

Thank you to the audience!

THANK YOU to everyone who attended the reading of Alex and Michael and Hannah last night. A play isn’t a play without an audience, it’s truly impossible to know if a play works until you can hear the reaction to it, so you will be a huge help in improving the script, and getting it onstage!

Thank you to Script Salon, Holy Trinity, Playwrights Guild of Canada, and Alberta Playwrights Network for putting on the reading.

AND to the amazing director and cast for making the reading happen…ESPECIALLY Jake Tkaczyk for stepping in 30 minutes before rehearsal began yesterday!
