Cancellation

Hi TaB fans.

Sad news: the production of Alex and Michael Hannah has been cancelled.

We encourage everyone who’s been following pre-production to support all artists who’ve been badly affected by the Pandemic — see their videos, listen to their podcasts, and when this over, go go GO to as much live theatre as you possibly can.

THANK YOU to everyone who has donated on FB and bought tickets to the Paint Nite fundraiser. We hope you’ll be happy with the decision to donate those funds on to The Edmonton Food Bank. So many people have lost their jobs and are in need to help right now, and since the show can’t go on, it seems appropriate to pass on your generosity to others.

Playwright Heather continues to work on the script for Alex and Michael and Hannah, and hopefully, one day, you WILL see it onstage.

Stay healthy and safe 💜

Stage Manager Required for Alex and Michael and Hannah

Take a Bite Productions invites incredible stage managers in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to submit CVs for the world premiere production of Alex and Michael and Hannah, to appear at the Edmonton Fringe, August 13-23, 2020. Position is PAID. **Contingency plans to perform the show virtually should the Fringe be cancelled are afoot.**

Please send inquiries to Heather Morrow, hmorrow@takeabite.ca by April 17, 2020.

Charming, dependable Alex resists asking out Hannah for weeks, certain he’ll only hurt her. Hannah is so stunned to be asked out at all she assumes Alex has made a mistake. And Michael says he’s only after a good time, but finds himself becoming the lover and best friend of them both. A threesome's love story about self-doubt, society’s perceptions, and arguing over lunch.

Making Lemonade

First, here’s hoping all TaB fans are staying safe and healthy in this time of covid.

Second, we’re surrounded by very sour lemons. For the time being, the Edmonton Fringe is still scheduled to go ahead. And in the meantime, as a BIG teaser, playwright Heather is writing a second version of the script, to be performed 99% online.

Hopefully, you will see Alex and Michael and Hannah live onstage first, and (since it’ll have been written anyway!) version 2. But, if it turns out version 2 goes up first, you’ll still get the stage version later.

Meet our Producing Partner – The Women’s Co.

Take a Bite Productions is thrilled to be partnering with The Women’s Company to bring you Alex and Michael and Hannah this summer.

The Women’s Company is an initiative offering theatre by women and for women. The Company’s inaugural production was the acclaimed Off-Broadway hit, ‘Love, Loss, and What I Wore’ at the Regina International Fringe Theatre Festival in 2017. The show received critical acclaim and was widely loved by the fringe audience, who helped us raise nearly $1000 for The Canadian Cancer Society and The Regina Transition House (the local women’s shelter). In 2018, The Company took ‘Love, Loss, and What I Wore’ on tour. We performed across the country, ending our tour at the Edmonton International Fringe™ Theatre Festival. For our Edmonton performances we were honoured to be nominated for eight BroadwayWorld Awards; eventually winning Best Play, Best Touring Show, and Best Costume Design.
