I couldn’t tell you. They look like bomb shelters. Very…pretty, well-kept…bomb shelters. Flower clock! An honest-to-God lily pond! We went into the Eye of Sauron – sorry the Hotel Lisboa – for dinner, and just to see WHAT was there! THIS is the free bread that came with our dinner – one is garlic rosemary, one is chocolate brioche. Both steaming fresh. Salmon, baked potato, and broccoli au gratin. My friend had pizza with goat cheese. Inside the Casino Lisboa, attached to the Hotel. I didn’t believe these over-top, James-Bond type hotels existed! I was wrong. Oh, wait there’s more. BEHOLD Casino Lisboa’s exterior! It hurt my EYES. THIS is the much quieter, old-school, sedate lobby of OUR hotel. Because it’s not enough to have Catholic churches on every block. I wish I knew what this beautiful building was. Could be an embassy or someone’s house! Outside the Sands Casino and Hotel. LOOK OUT! A VERY quick shot of the Kun Iam statue from a city bus on the way back to our hotel. Casinos ARE everywhere in Macau — many much older than those in Cotai! A shrine tucked away under two streets. I just really like this city. Spread the word:TweetMoreEmailLike this:Like Loading...

My present from my co-worker Claire, a Charlie Brown thermos! Chinese snacks – packaged fish paste and sheets of seaweed. Smells like cat food. Tastes great! Jasmine’s present from Joe. So cool! Claire with her scarf from our supervisor Gloria. Christmas Teddy! View looking down from the 5th floor inside Lihe Plaza, where we went for Christmas Eve dinner. Joe made us all Christmas crackers! We went for pizza, and they provided…plastic gloves. Scott’s mom and nanna came to visit from Australia…and they brought Christmas cake! Christmas morning breakfast. Tree at Sebastien and Nathaniel’s flat, where we had Christmas dinner. Here you see Rio (very like Bacardi Breezer), Bombay Sapphire, Baileys, brandy, whisky, Captain Morgan, sujo, Harbin (Chinese beer)…and Amarula. Injera! Ethiopian flatbread! Red Lentils and steamed vegetables, to be eaten with injera. Ethiopian food is my new favourite. Spaghetti sauce to die for. I’m not sure how many glasses in of Amarula this is.
